Criminal defense attorney Cassandra Bautista’s objective is to protect the rights of the accused while explaining each aspect of the process along the way. Cassandra ensures that justice is a process that individuals participate in, rather than something that is “done to” them. She is passionate about helping her clients through difficult legal situations and seeking justice on their behalf. Cassandra is diligent, meticulous, tough, and works tirelessly to ensure her clients’ rights are protected.

In addition to her experience working with clients on an array of criminal defense matters, Cassandra also has experience in immigration law and defending clients’ rights. Cassandra started her career as an immigration and criminal defense attorney in St. Paul, representing clients in Immigration Court (EOIR) and before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and in District Court all over the State of Minnesota. She is fluent in Spanish and primarily represented the Latinx community.

Following this role, Cassandra was a prosecutor for multiple cities in Dakota County for three years. She prosecuted gross misdemeanors, misdemeanors, and petty misdemeanors before joining Sieben Edmunds Miller as a defense attorney. Cassandra brings a unique perspective to each case because of her experience as a prosecutor.

In her free time, Cassandra enjoys playing soccer, salsa dancing, spending time with her family, and visiting State Parks with her husband and dogs.

Cassandra is a regular contributor to La Matraca magazine, Minnesota’s #1 publication in Spanish. Her column covers a wide range of criminal defense topics.
