Michael Miller is a dedicated personal injury attorney who has spent more than two decades helping injured Minnesotans navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives. He represents clients in a wide range of personal injury matters, including wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, vehicle collisions, and premises liability claims. Whether he’s advocating at trial or negotiating a settlement, Michael’s focus is always on helping clients recover the compensation they need to move forward with confidence.
Michael’s interest in personal injury law grew out of a desire to balance the scales for individuals going up against insurance companies and powerful institutions. He also comes from a family full of lawyers as his mother was a judge for over 30 years, his father has been an attorney for over 30 years, and even his brother is now an attorney. With a lifetime commitment to the law, he’s built a reputation for being strategic, detail-oriented, and fiercely committed to his clients’ well-being. Michael approaches each case with a clear plan and open communication, ensuring that his clients always understand what’s happening and what to expect. He views his role not only as a litigator, but also as a guide and advocate—someone who helps clients regain control during a time of uncertainty.
Prior to joining Sieben Edmunds Miller, Michael spent 15 years at a large personal injury firm in Minneapolis. His career began while still attending William Mitchell College of Law, where he clerked for two Hennepin County District Court Judges, externed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and represented clients through William Mitchell’s Civil Advocacy Clinic. He successfully argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals as a law student—an early glimpse into the skill and confidence he brings to his work today. Michael has also guest lectured at the University of Minnesota Law School, the University of St. Thomas School of Law, and Hamline University School of Law.
Michael is admitted to practice in the Minnesota State Bar, the United States Federal District Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a certified arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
He is actively involved in numerous professional organizations. Michael was elected in a statewide election to serve as Minnesota’s State Delegate in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates, the national organization’s policy-making body. He also serves on the ABA Nominating Committee and the Conference of State Delegates Executive Committee. Locally, Michael has been a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Assembly and the Hennepin County Bar Association’s Board of Directors. He is also a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation—an honor extended to less than 1% of American attorneys—and a member of the American Inns of Court, Minnesota Amdahl Chapter.
His work has earned him widespread recognition. Michael is proudly a member of the Multi-Million Dollars Advocates Forum as well as the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership is limited to those who have a million, or multimillion dollar verdict or settlement, respectively. Michael has been consistently named a Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law and Politics, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, and Twin Cities Business, a designation awarded to just 5% of attorneys in the state. He received the Top 10 Attorney Award from the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys and was recognized by Minnesota Monthly as a Top Lawyer. He has also been named to the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and early in his career, he was selected as one of Minnesota Lawyer’s “Up and Coming Attorneys”, an honor given to just 25 lawyers in their first 10 years of practice. Most recently, Michael earned Gold in the Star Tribune’s Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Personal Injury Lawyer and was recognized by his peers in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for high caliber work in Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs.
Outside of the courtroom, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, and he has a deep love for equine sports. His calm, steady demeanor and deep legal knowledge make him a trusted advocate for clients and a respected leader in the legal community.
