Tharika Jor’dan serves as an associate attorney in the criminal defense department at Sieben Edmunds Miller. In this capacity, she engages directly with clients, offering consultations, legal advice, and representation throughout their legal challenges.
Before joining Sieben Edmunds Miller, Tharika graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Recognized by the Minnesota Justice Foundation for public service work, Tharika worked at CRP Law, a private criminal defense firm, during the summer after her 1L year. She also served as a Certified Student Attorney at the Anoka County Public Defender’s Office and volunteered at Minneapolis Adult Education Public School, teaching law through the Minnesota Justice Foundation’s Street Law Program.
Tharika’s experiences include invaluable litigation exposure during her time as a student attorney at the Anoka County Public Defender’s Office, focusing on bail hearings. She also collaborated with a team of attorneys at the Great North Innocence Project during her 3L year, working on complex cases involving wrongful convictions.
In Tharika’s practice, the focus lies on general criminal defense, emphasizing cultural competency and sensitivity to each client’s unique situation. She believes in ensuring clients feel heard and comfortable to advocate for their wishes, guiding them through the legal system with informed decision-making.
Tharika’s commitment to clients has earned recognition, including the Law School Public Service Program Certificate from the Minnesota Justice Foundation and the title of Best Advocate at the Summit Cup from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Tharika holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Women Sexuality Studies with a minor in Social Justice from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She has been admitted to the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Volunteer involvement includes serving as a Legal Rights Volunteer Teacher at MPD Center for Adult Learning through the Minnesota Justice Foundation and volunteering with Communities United Against Police Brutality.
