Amy Steeves

Amy C. Steeves is a highly experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal at Sieben Edmunds Miller, where she plays a key role in supporting attorneys Tharika, Stephanie, and Cassandra. With a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Minnesota State University Moorhead, Amy brings a wealth of legal experience, including extensive work in both the public and private sectors. 

Throughout her career, Amy has worked across various legal environments, including district courts, prosecution, public defense, and private defense. Her background has provided her with a well-rounded perspective on the criminal justice system. She understands that for many clients, interacting with the legal system is an incredibly stressful and anxiety-inducing experience. Amy strives to alleviate some of that stress by ensuring her clients receive the care, attention, and personalized support they deserve. 

Whether dealing with court orders or navigating the appeals process, Amy understands how critical accuracy is when it comes to protecting clients’ civil liberties. A small error can have significant consequences, and Amy strives to ensure that no detail is overlooked in her work. 

Amy’s journey to Sieben Edmunds Miller was driven by her desire to engage more deeply with clients and focus on quality over quantity. At Sieben Edmunds Miller, she is able to provide the level of personalized attention that was often impossible in the public defense setting due to the high volume of cases. Building strong relationships with both her clients and the attorneys she supports is a core part of Amy’s approach, and she takes pride in anticipating the needs of her attorneys and helping to guide cases toward successful outcomes. 

Outside of the office, Amy is passionate about community service and she regularly seeks out opportunities to give back. As an active participant in her children’s lives, she has spent countless nights camping as part of her involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, with her son having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Amy’s commitment to service extends beyond her professional life, reflecting her belief in the importance of helping others. 

A devoted Disney fan, Amy finds joy in the magic of Disney parks and values the sense of wonder and lightheartedness that these experiences provide. She also enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors, appreciating the peace and balance that nature brings to her life.
